For Beach Lovers

FOR-BEACH-LOVERS

Perfectly situated to access the beautiful North and South Cornish coasts, the nearest beaches are only half an hour drive from Landrends. Of course, if you are extremely keen, then even the furthest tip of Cornwall is only 1 ½ hours drive, so a day trip to Land’s End or the Lizard is definitely possible.

Again, here is a list of our favourites:

Crackington Haven

Our nearest beach. Primarily rocky, with fantastic rocks to climb & rockpools to explore. Good for surfing too! Pay & display car park (pretty much next to the beach). 2 beach cafés and a pub. Dog friendly, and perfect for a blustery, exhilarating walk. There is a great coastal path from here with wonderful views.

 Trebarwith Strand

When the tide is out, this incredible beach ticks all the boxes. Great surf, amazing rocks to climb, heaps of sandy pools for little ones to swim & splash in, caves, rockpools… When the tide is in, the beach can not be accessed, so CHECK TIDE TIMES. Ideally you need to go at least 2 hours after high tide. The tide can come in fast here, especially in rough weather, so please be vigilant.
There are 2 car parks – use the upper one in high season, as the lower one is much more expensive. It is a 5 minute walk down to the beach.

Be sure to have a drink/food at the Port William pub – great views!

NB. This beach is dog friendly, but NOT buggy friendly. Put your little one in a back carrier!

Treyarnon Bay

Huge car park, so good for high season. Lovely sandy beach, great surf, small shop but no café. Not so well known by tourists, so a hidden gem in high season. Beware, the tide comes in fast!! Dog friendly. Buggy friendly path down to the beach.

Daymer Bay

Miles of sandy beach, fantastic coastal walk from the far end of the beach, good swimming, great sand dunes for rolling down! Pay & display car park right next to the beach, little shop & café, toilets open in high season. Dog friendly.

Summerleaze & Crooklets beach, Bude

Gorgeous sandy beaches with great surf, good facilities, huge car park. There is a great sea-filled swimming pool in the rocks at Summerleaze, great for little ones if the surf is high on the main beach. Crooklets is much smaller, but a hidden gem.
