Being in the perfect location for exploring Cornwall, there is a huge variety of food and drink to suit all tastes & budgets, less than an hour from Landrends. From to Rick Stein’s restaurant at Padstow to Nathan Outlaw’s Fish Kitchen at Port Isaac, or just the local pub, there is always find something to satisfy.
As a starting point, we have compiled a list of places we like to eat and drink closer to home, which we hope you will find helpful.
The Eliot Arms, Tregadillet
(5 minute drive or 30 minute walk (!) from Landrends).
Good pub grub, good sized portions, local ale.
The Springer Spaniel, Treburley

Known for its fine food and ales & serving an extensive menu of fresh, local, seasonal produce. Perfect for something a bit more special, but with a relaxed atmosphere. Dogs welcome
The Rising Sun at Altarnun

Country pub just outside the village of Altarnun. The style of food is based on quality, with a menu to suit everyone’s taste. Ingredients are sourced from local Cornish producers, fishermen & artisanal food makers.
Boscastle Farm shop & cafe

This stunning farm shop & café is famous for its homemade burgers & sausages, all-day breakfasts, lovely lunches and home-made pies & cakes. It is surrounded by National Trust farmland, with breathtaking views and a fantastic coastal path walk. Everything possible is made by hand in the coastal kitchen. Sunday lunch (advisable to book) and milkshakes highly recommended.
There is also an outdoor play area for the little ones, & the coastal path can be accessed directly from the farm shop. With big leather sofas & an open fire, it even delivers when the weather doesn’t!
Located in the centre of Launceston, Jerichos produces delicious rustic flavours of traditional home cooking, with a friendly atmosphere. The seasonal restaurant menu is adapted every month and a large selection of vegetarian dishes are served as standard.
The food is locally sourced and prepared freshly on the premises served in the open plan kitchen.

Exceptional, speciality coffee in a relaxed environment. They also have excellent loose leaf tea supplied by the Brew Tea Co. and freshly baked cakes from Jericho’s Kitchen. Try their amazing hot chocolate, made with real chocolate buttons!
Cowslip Café & Workshop – www.cowslipworkshops.co.uk
Primarily a sewing and patchwork shop & workshop, Cowslip also serves light lunches, cream teas, coffee and delicious cake. All the food prepared is as local and organic as possible. One for the ladies!
Speciality Food Shops
Little Bakehouse, Launceston
In the centre of Launceston, this artisan bakery sells delicious hand made sourdough bread, pastries & cakes. Breakfast, coffee & light lunches are also highly recommended.
The Green house
Located in the centre of town, the Green House serves a wonderful selection of healthy smoothies, juices & amazing vegan food. Also open on a Friday & Saturday evening for dinner (booking essential).
Philip Warren Butchers
Local, award winning, professional Cornish butchers who farm and work closely with local farmers to deliver great meat. Fed on grass, aged on the bone, meat as nature intended.
Located in Launceston high street, or at Pennygillam industrial estate.
For something completely different and incredibly special…
In the heart of Cornwall’s countryside, and set amongst 66 acres of meadows, woodland and oak-lined streams, Coombeshead Farm is a farm, five bed guesthouse, restaurant and bakery created by chefs Tom Adams of London’s Pitt Cue and April Bloomfield of NYC’s The Spotted Pig. The drill is a regularly changing five-course set dinner, served in a single sitting in a stunning converted barn. It’s rustic, unfussy fare utilises foraged materials to back up the in-house cured pork and excellent local organic meats.
Dinner is served Thursday to Sunday inclusive each week, beginning at 7pm. The offering changes regularly depending on the season and what the farm is producing. Dinner is £65 per person and is available to non residents also. Payment for dinner is required when booking.
